| Details | University of the Third Age Meets: Usually last Wednesday of the month, 10am Ballroom of the Athanaeum Chairman: Mr David Dougan (01284) 752588 - A self help educational organisation for those with time during the day to devote to learning and teaching. Formed in 1988, with its office in the Risbygate Centre, 90 Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds. Affiliated to the Third Age Trust, the national organisation, we maintain friendly links with other U3A's in the area. Mainly for the retired or individuals no longer in paid employment. Members meet in small study groups to pursue specific interests, pooling their knowledge or skill and doing their own research. Study Groups of members meet in members' homes and other local venues. The annual subscription is �6. This entitles members to full benefits of membership: to enrol in study groups, attend the monthly Lecture Meetings, receive regular Newspapers, the U3A quarterly magazine and take part in all U3A activities.. |
